Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers about ordering, free fabric samples, sizing, Made to Order and Made to Measure tailoring, delivery, Fit Assurance, returns and international purchases.
How Long Does It Take?
Most Made to Order and Made to Measure orders are estimated to arrive within 4–6 weeks, including delivery.
Size Not Listed?
Adult extended sizing can be confirmed at the equivalent Made to Order price. Contact us before ordering.
Free Fabric Samples
Request a physical swatch before ordering to assess colour, texture and pattern, or to coordinate wedding flowers, invitations and styling.
Choosing Your Suit
The main differences between our tailoring options.
What is the difference between Made to Order and Made to Measure?
Made to Order normally uses a listed size with the product-specific styling choices shown on the page. A confirmed adult extended-size accommodation may use individual measurements while retaining those standard Made to Order styling options and price.
Made to Measure uses individual adult body measurements and provides additional control over proportion and styling. Read more on our Made to Order and Made to Measure pages.
Is Made to Measure the same as traditional bespoke tailoring?
No. Made to Measure uses your measurements and selected styling to create an individually proportioned garment. Traditional bespoke tailoring normally involves an individually drafted pattern and repeated in-person fittings.
Do you make suits for men and women?
Yes. We offer Made to Order and Made to Measure tailoring for men and women, with proportions and styling appropriate to each range. Women’s jacket length, sleeve fit, waist shaping, trousers and skirt options are considered separately.
Can you help with unusual proportions or accessibility requirements?
Yes. Tell us about athletic proportions, asymmetry, petite or tall frames, fuller areas, mobility requirements, fluctuating measurements or swelling that may affect fit. Contact us before ordering where your needs are not represented by the standard options, so we can confirm the most suitable service and measurements.
Can I order matching suits for a wedding party?
Yes, subject to fabric availability. Each wearer should provide their own size or measurements, and Fit Assurance must be added separately to each suit requiring cover. Order at least eight weeks before an important event.
Sizing & Measurements
Choosing sizes and understanding body measurements.
What if my adult size is not listed?
Contact us before ordering. We can accommodate almost any adult size or proportion and, subject to tailoring suitability and confirmation, use individual measurements while retaining the standard Made to Order styling options at the equivalent Made to Order price. You will not pay more solely because your measurements fall outside our standard size chart. Full Made to Measure styling remains available at the usual Made to Measure price.
What does “size to fit” mean?
It means the body size the garment is intended to fit, not the finished garment measurement. If your body chest measures 40 inches, order or enter the 40-inch chest size. The jacket itself is made larger to provide suitable ease.
Should I add extra room to my measurements?
No. Unless a form specifically asks for a finished-garment measurement, provide your actual body measurement. We calculate the required ease or overmeasure for the garment pattern, service and intended silhouette.
How should I measure myself?
Use a flexible cloth tape, stand naturally and repeat each measurement several times. Follow our men’s measurement guide or women’s measurement guide.
Do I need someone else to help?
Many measurements can be taken alone, but another person is particularly useful for shoulders, sleeves, jacket length and checking that the tape remains level.
Will you check my measurements?
We may review them for obvious inconsistencies and ask questions, but a remote check cannot identify every measuring error or unmentioned fit requirement. The customer remains responsible for complete and accurate information.
Fit Assurance
Optional protection for customers concerned about sizing.
What is Fit Assurance?
Fit Assurance is an optional paid service available with every Made to Order and Made to Measure suit. Each purchase is attached to one specific suit and provides one complete fit-resolution case.
Can Fit Assurance cover the whole suit?
Yes. It may cover one piece, several pieces or the entire jacket, waistcoat and trousers or skirt belonging to the covered suit where the evidence shows this is genuinely required.
How do I make a claim?
Notify us in writing within 14 days of delivery. Explain the issue, provide requested photographs and tape-measure evidence, and repeat the relevant body measurements several times. Garments must not have been altered or worn to an event.
Must I return the original garments?
Yes. Every piece approved for remake must be returned. For a full suit remake, the complete original suit must be returned unworn, unaltered, on its hangers, inside its garment bags and securely boxed.
How long does a remake take?
A remake is newly produced and normally requires the standard estimated 4–6 week period, including delivery, after the original garments, revised measurements and approvals are complete.
What happens if I do not use Fit Assurance?
The full fee becomes credit towards a qualifying future order. The credit is valid for 12 months and is subject to the conditions shown when the service is purchased.
Does it replace my rights if the suit is faulty?
No. Faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed goods are handled separately and do not use the Fit Assurance case. Read the full Fit Assurance page.
Production & Delivery
Lead times, tracking, packaging and important events.
How long will my suit take?
Most orders are estimated to arrive within 4–6 weeks, including delivery. Many arrive in approximately 25–30 days, but customers should plan around the full window.
When does the estimate begin?
On the later of 48 hours after ordering or the date on which we have received full payment and every measurement, styling choice and detail required to begin production.
Will I receive tracking information?
Suit orders are sent using a tracked and insured service. Customers should normally receive tracking information by email and/or SMS after dispatch.
How are suits packaged?
A standard suit is placed on a hanger inside a suit garment bag, gently folded once and securely packed in a protective cardboard box. Several suits ordered together are normally dispatched together, although they may be boxed individually.
How early should I order for a wedding?
Order at least eight weeks before the garments are required, especially for group orders. We do not offer a public rapid or priority production service.
Can you guarantee an event date?
Published lead times are estimates rather than guaranteed event deadlines. Tell us the date, but order with sufficient time. Read the complete Delivery & Lead Times policy.
Returns & Cancellations
Custom-order cancellation, sizing problems and faults.
Can I cancel a custom suit order?
Made to Order and Made to Measure orders may normally be cancelled for a full refund by notifying us in writing within 48 hours. This does not apply where you explicitly asked us to begin cutting or production sooner and we acted on that request.
Can I change my measurements or styling after ordering?
Changes requested within the first 48 hours are subject to availability and only apply once confirmed by us in writing. Later changes may be impossible or may require an additional charge and revised lead time.
Can I return a custom suit because I changed my mind?
Custom garments are produced using the selected sizing, measurements and specifications, so ordinary change-of-mind returns may not apply once production is committed. Your rights concerning faulty or incorrect goods remain unaffected.
Can I return a custom suit because I do not like the colour or pattern?
Where the supplied garment uses the fabric you selected and is consistent with the confirmed description, a later change of preference about the colour or pattern is not normally treated as a fault. Because Made to Order and Made to Measure garments are produced to the customer’s chosen specifications, ordinary change-of-mind returns may not apply once production is committed.
Screen settings, photography and surrounding light can affect how cloth appears online. We therefore encourage customers to request a free physical fabric sample before ordering where the exact shade, texture or pattern is important. This is especially useful when coordinating a wedding suit with flowers, invitations, bridesmaid colours or a wider colour scheme.
This does not affect your legal rights where a garment is faulty, incorrect or materially misdescribed. Request a free fabric sample or review the Tweed Fabric Guide.
What if I selected the wrong size or submitted incorrect measurements?
Without Fit Assurance, we do not promise an alteration service or automatic free remake. We may offer an available replacement piece or discounted remake at our discretion, but this is not guaranteed and will be assessed individually.
What if the garment is faulty or made incorrectly?
Contact us promptly. The appropriate remedy may include replacement, remake, repair, price reduction or refund according to the circumstances and your legal rights.
Where should I send a return?
Do not send returns to our public correspondence PO Box. Contact us first. We provide the appropriate private returns address and instructions when a return is authorised.
How must a custom suit be returned?
Normally unworn other than reasonable indoor fitting, unaltered, on its original hanger, inside the garment bag and securely boxed rather than sent in a mailing bag. Read the full Returns, Refunds & Cancellations policy.
International Orders
Customs, taxes and delivery from the UK.
Do you deliver internationally?
Yes, we ship from the United Kingdom to many destinations. Availability and delivery cost depend on the country and parcel.
Who pays import duties and local taxes?
The customer is responsible for identifying and paying import duties, customs charges, local taxes, brokerage and clearance fees. These are not included unless checkout expressly states otherwise.
Can customs delay my order?
Yes. Destination-country customs authorities may inspect, hold or delay a parcel. Their processing times are outside our control.
Can I refuse a parcel if import charges are high?
Refusing or failing to collect a custom parcel because destination charges are due does not create a right to cancel or receive a refund. You may remain responsible for charges, return costs, storage and further delivery.
What if I enter the wrong delivery address?
Contact us immediately. A change only applies once confirmed in writing. The customer may be responsible for return, storage or redelivery costs caused by an incorrect address, missed delivery or unclaimed parcel.
Fabrics & Styling
Samples, colours and custom styling choices.
Can I request a free fabric sample before ordering?
Yes. We offer free fabric samples for customers considering a suit or tailored garment, subject to current cloth availability. Contact us with the exact fabric name or product link and your delivery address.
A physical swatch is the clearest way to assess colour, texture and pattern scale before choosing a custom garment. Wedding customers can also compare it with flowers, invitations, bridesmaid colours, venue styling and the wider colour theme.
Request a free fabric sample or use the Tweed Fabric Guide to identify the cloth.
Will the fabric look exactly the same as on my screen?
We aim to represent fabrics accurately, but screen settings, photography and surrounding light can alter colour and texture. Shade may also vary slightly between fabric batches, and pattern placement differs between cut pieces.
Where the exact shade or pattern is central to your decision, request a free physical sample before ordering. A small swatch still shows less pattern repetition than a complete jacket, waistcoat or pair of trousers.
What can I customise?
Options vary by product and service, and may include fit, jacket length, single- or double-breasted styling, lapels, trousers or skirt, waistcoat styling and other details shown on the product page.
Can I change fabric or styling during a remake?
No. A remake corrects the fit or supplied specification of the original order and retains the original confirmed fabric and styling unless we expressly agree otherwise.
What if a fabric becomes unavailable?
We will contact you to discuss a suitable alternative or a refund for the affected item. We will not knowingly substitute a materially different cloth without agreement.

An automatic email may acknowledge receipt. The order is accepted when we confirm it for production or begin ordering or cutting fabric after reviewing payment, availability and required information.

No. It is for correspondence only and cannot receive garment returns. Always contact us first.
