Customer Care

Tweed Suit Delivery & Lead Times

Our Made to Order tweed suits and Made to Measure tweed suits are produced individually for each customer. Most orders are estimated to arrive within 4–6 weeks, including delivery, once the order is ready to enter production.

Estimated 4–6 Weeks

The estimate normally includes production and delivery. Many orders arrive sooner, but customers should plan around the full stated window.

Tracked & Insured

Suit orders are dispatched using a tracked and insured service. UK orders normally use a next-working-day service after production is complete.

International Charges

Import duties, customs charges, local taxes and clearance fees are the customer’s responsibility and are not included in our prices.

Important Event?

For weddings, group orders or any occasion where timing and fit are especially important, we recommend ordering at least eight weeks before the event. This allows additional time should measurements need checking or any fit issue require resolution. Contact us before ordering where the date is especially important.

01

When the Lead Time Begins

The estimated production and delivery period for both Made to Order and Made to Measure tailoring begins on the later of:

  • 48 hours after the order was placed; or
  • the date on which we have received full payment and all measurements, styling selections, order details and other information required to begin production.

The initial 48-hour period allows customers to cancel or request specification changes before fabric ordering, cutting or production normally begins. Where a customer has explicitly asked us to begin cutting or production sooner, the timing and cancellation position may change as explained in our Returns, Refunds & Cancellations policy.

How long should you allow?

Many orders are completed and delivered in approximately 25–30 days. However, this is not a guaranteed deadline. Customers should rely on the broader estimated window of 4–6 weeks, including delivery.

Orders cannot enter production while essential information remains missing, unclear or awaiting customer confirmation. Time spent waiting for measurements, responses, styling choices or payment is not included in the production estimate.

02

Delivery Within the UK

After production and final checking are complete, UK suit orders are dispatched using a tracked and insured next-working-day service. We do not name a particular delivery provider because the service used may change according to availability, destination, parcel size or operational requirements.

Customers should normally receive tracking information by email and/or SMS using the contact details supplied with the order. Tracking notifications may be sent directly by the delivery provider.

  • Delivery to remote locations, islands and certain postcode areas may take longer.
  • Saturday and Sunday delivery is not available in every area.
  • A parcel dispatched on a Friday may arrive on Monday or the next available working day.
  • Bank holidays and local service restrictions may extend delivery times.

The UK delivery period is normally included within the overall 4–6 week estimate.

03

International Delivery

We ship from the United Kingdom to many international destinations. International orders are sent using a tracked service appropriate to the destination and parcel.

The estimated 4–6 week period normally includes delivery. However, countries further from the UK, remote regions and territories with slower local networks may require several additional working days.

Customs processing is outside our control.

Destination-country customs authorities may inspect, hold or delay an international parcel. We cannot control their processing times and do not accept responsibility for delays caused by customs authorities, except where the law requires otherwise or a problem results directly from our failure to provide required export documentation.

International delivery estimates are therefore less predictable than UK estimates. Tracking may also pause while a parcel is transferred between international and local delivery networks.

04

Customs, Duties & Local Taxes

International customers are responsible for identifying, understanding and paying all charges imposed by their destination country, state, region or local authority.

These may include:

  • import duties and tariffs;
  • customs charges;
  • local sales tax, VAT or similar taxes;
  • brokerage, handling or clearance fees;
  • storage charges caused by delayed payment or collection; and
  • any other destination-country import cost.

These charges are not included in the product price or delivery charge shown by us. They vary between countries and may also vary between states or regions within the same country. Customers should check the rules and likely costs with their local customs or tax authority before ordering.

Refusing import charges does not cancel a custom order.

Refusing delivery of a Made to Order or Made to Measure garment because import charges are due does not create a right to cancel or receive a refund. The customer remains responsible for applicable charges, return costs, storage fees and any cost of sending the parcel again.

Nothing in this section limits any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.

05

Weddings, Events & Group Orders

For weddings, formal events and group orders, we recommend ordering at least eight weeks before the date on which the garments are required.

The additional time is particularly important where:

  • several suits are being produced together;
  • members of the group are supplying measurements separately;
  • fabric availability must be coordinated across multiple garments;
  • delivery is international; or
  • a measurement error or fit issue might require a replacement piece or remake.

Please tell us the event date when ordering, but do not treat an estimated date as a guaranteed event deadline. We do not offer a public rapid or priority production service.

Where timing is critical, customers should place orders early, respond promptly to measurement questions and consider adding Fit Assurance to each suit for which additional sizing protection is required.

06

Addresses, Tracking & Missed Delivery

Customers must provide a complete and accurate delivery address, including any apartment, unit, building, postcode, state, province or regional information required for delivery.

Please check the delivery address carefully at checkout and contact us promptly if it needs correcting. An address change is only effective once we have confirmed it in writing. We may be unable to redirect an order after dispatch.

The customer may be responsible for additional delivery, return, storage or redelivery costs where:

  • an incorrect or incomplete address was supplied;
  • the recipient was unavailable and did not rearrange delivery;
  • a parcel was not collected from a nominated collection point;
  • the parcel was left unclaimed;
  • import charges were not paid; or
  • the parcel was returned for a reason not caused by us or the delivery provider.

Where a parcel is marked as delivered but cannot be found, the customer should check any safe place, reception area, household member, neighbour or local delivery point before contacting us. We will assist with an appropriate delivery investigation where necessary.

07

Unexpected Delays

The 4–6 week period is an estimate rather than an absolute guarantee. Tailored garments depend on a sequence of fabric supply, cutting, construction, quality checking and delivery. Occasionally, circumstances outside our reasonable control may extend the process.

Examples include:

  • fabric-supplier delays, stock discrepancies or discontinued cloth;
  • delivery-network disruption;
  • customs inspections or border delays;
  • severe weather, fire, flood or natural disaster;
  • strikes, civil disruption, conflict or government restrictions;
  • unexpected production interruption; or
  • incorrect, incomplete or late customer information.

Where we become aware of a significant delay, we will aim to contact the customer and provide a revised estimate. Any legal rights arising from a serious failure to deliver within an agreed timeframe remain unaffected.

Fabric availability

Where a selected fabric becomes unavailable before cutting, we will contact the customer to discuss a suitable alternative or the options available for the affected order. We will not silently substitute a materially different cloth.

08

Replacement & Remade Pieces

A replacement or remake is a newly produced garment. It is not taken from an instant stock supply and therefore requires a new production period.

Unless otherwise confirmed in writing, allow an estimated 4–6 weeks, including delivery, beginning once:

  • the replacement or remake has been approved;
  • all original pieces required for return have been received;
  • revised measurements and fit evidence have been agreed; and
  • any applicable remake payment has been completed.

Fit Assurance remakes are not rapid or priority orders. Full conditions are explained on the Fit Assurance page and in our Returns, Refunds & Cancellations policy.

How Suit Orders Are Sent

Protected, Boxed and Ready for Its Journey.

Packaging may vary according to the number of suits, destination and any delivery option selected, but suits are not sent loose in a mailing bag.

Standard Suit Packaging

A standard suit order is placed on a hanger inside a suit garment bag, gently folded once and packed securely in a protective cardboard box. A typical single-suit box is approximately 45 × 38 × 20 cm, although dimensions may vary.

Orders with Several Suits

Items ordered together are normally dispatched together once the complete order is ready. Individual suits may be boxed separately while forming part of the same shipment. Separate dispatch is only used where agreed or operationally necessary.

Garment-Box Delivery

A premium upright garment-box option may be offered for an additional charge in eligible territories. Availability is not guaranteed for every destination. We may occasionally provide enhanced packaging for larger UK orders at our discretion.

Delivery Questions

Useful Answers Before Ordering.

These answers summarise the policy above. Where there is any difference, the full sections above apply.

How long do Made to Order and Made to Measure tweed suits take?

Most Made to Order and Made to Measure tweed suits are estimated to arrive within 4–6 weeks, including production and delivery, once the order is ready to enter production. International orders to distant or remote destinations may require several additional working days, and customs processing may extend the timeframe further.

When does the 4–6 week period begin?

It begins on the later of 48 hours after ordering or the date on which we have received full payment and every measurement, styling choice and detail required to begin production.

Can you guarantee delivery before my wedding?

We provide estimated lead times rather than guaranteed event deadlines. For weddings, group orders and important events, order at least eight weeks before the garments are needed and tell us the event date when ordering.

Will I receive tracking information?

Suit orders are tracked and insured. Customers should normally receive tracking information by email and/or SMS after dispatch, using the contact details supplied with the order.

Who pays international import charges?

The customer is responsible for checking and paying all import duties, local taxes, customs charges and clearance fees imposed by the destination country or region. These costs are not included in our prices.

What happens if I refuse an international parcel because charges are due?

Refusing a custom-made order because import charges are due does not create a right to cancel or receive a refund. The customer may also be responsible for return, storage and redelivery costs.

Are several suits dispatched together?

Items ordered together are normally sent once the complete order is ready, although suits may be boxed individually within the shipment. We may agree a different arrangement where appropriate.

How long does a remade piece take?

A remake is newly produced and normally requires an estimated 4–6 weeks including delivery after the original return, revised measurements, approval and any applicable payment have been completed.
