About That British Tweed Company
Tailoring Made More Personal.
We believe a suit should be designed around the person wearing it—not around a narrow idea of what a body is supposed to look like.
Our approach combines a genuine love of tweed with flexible styling, inclusive sizing and practical support for men, women and boys.
Why We Do It
A Love of Tweed, Without the Old Restrictions.
Tweed has character. It can be understated or bold, traditional or contemporary, formal enough for a wedding and relaxed enough to wear again long after the occasion has passed.
What we do not love are the limitations that often come with conventional tailoring: narrow size ranges, rigid ideas about masculine and feminine styling, and garments that expect every customer to fit the same template.
That British Tweed Company was built around a more flexible idea—distinctive British tweed tailoring with more choice, more consideration and a clearer route to a suit that feels genuinely yours.
Tailoring for Every Body
The Garment Should Adapt to You.
Bodies are individual. Some are petite or tall, broad or lean, powerful and athletic, softly proportioned or fuller through particular areas. Others may have asymmetry, mobility considerations, or measurements affected by disability or conditions such as lymphoedema.
We welcome customers who find conventional sizing restrictive. If an adult size is not listed, contact us before ordering. Subject to tailoring suitability and confirmation, we can use individual measurements with standard Made to Order styling at the equivalent Made to Order price, so nobody pays more solely because their measurements fall outside the chart.
The aim is not to make every customer fit the same shape. It is to create a balanced, comfortable garment that respects the wearer’s own proportions and personal style.
- Petite and tall frames
- Broad and muscular builds
- Fuller and non-standard proportions
- Asymmetry and fluctuating measurements
- Mobility and dressing considerations
- Extended-size Made to Order and full Made to Measure support
More Choice for Women
Women’s Tailoring Should Never Be an Afterthought.
Women deserve the same sense of authority, individuality and choice that has long been associated with men’s tailoring.
Our women’s collection includes trouser suits, skirt suits, jackets, waistcoats and separates, with attention paid to jacket length, sleeve fit, waist shaping and the balance of the complete outfit.
Depending on the chosen garment and service, styling can include different lapels, fits, lengths and single- or double-breasted construction—allowing the final suit to feel elegant, modern and entirely personal.

Your Suit, Your Style
More Than a Choice of Fabric.
Your suit should reflect how you want to look and how you want to feel. The available options vary by garment and tailoring service.
Fit & Proportion
Choose from the fit and length options available for the selected range and service, with attention paid to jacket, sleeve and lower-garment proportion.
Lapel Styling
Select from the lapel styles available for your chosen design, with additional width and facing options through Made to Measure.
Single or Double Breasted
Create a clean, versatile silhouette or choose a more structured double-breasted jacket where the garment allows.
The Complete Look
Coordinate jackets, waistcoats, trousers, skirts and accessories into a complete outfit with individual character.
Two Routes to Your Suit
Made to Order or Made to Measure.
Choose the service that best suits your body, your priorities and the level of personalisation you need.
Personalised Standard Sizing
Made to Order
Made to Order normally begins with listed sizing and adds the fit, length and styling choices available for the selected product.
If an adult size is not listed, a confirmed extended-size accommodation can use individual measurements while retaining the standard Made to Order styling options and price.

Made to Measure
Made to Measure uses individual body measurements and offers greater control over proportion, lapel styling, pocket details and button placement.
It provides the broadest control over proportion, asymmetry, mobility considerations and styling. An unlisted adult size alone does not require the customer to pay for these additional styling choices.

Why Tweed?
Because Character Matters.
We love tweed because it has depth, texture and personality. A herringbone reveals itself differently from a distance and at close range. A restrained overcheck can make a suit memorable without making it difficult to wear.
Checks, herringbones and country-inspired cloths also offer something increasingly rare in formalwear: individuality that does not depend on novelty.
The right tweed can move comfortably between weddings, race days, celebrations and everyday tailoring—giving the garment a life well beyond a single occasion.
